Avicii won the title for the best upcoming DJ/producer in 2009 according to the French magazine OnlyforDJs. After winning the award, he gave them an interview where they called him “the future of Sweden”. This 20-year-old producer has had admirable results in his short career. He has done remixes for Bob Sinclair, Roger Sanchez, David Guetta, Toni Braxton and Tiësto. Last year he had a major success with his hit “ Ryù”, which became “Essential New Tune” of the week in Pete Tong’s radio show, and later stayed in the top 20 for whole four weeks at all major world’s stations. Avicii started his career by remixing the tune for the Commodore 64 “Lazy Jones” game, but he soon gave up and started to play in clubs. His first big hit-single was “Manman” published in 2008 under Pete Tong’s label – Bedroom Bedlam – after winning the top of the chart in Tong’s radio-show, with 70% of the listeners’ votes. After that, Laidback Luke congratulated him at his MySpace profile, saying that this triumph could be a challenge for many DJs. Soon after that he received offers from numerous labels, booking agencies and promoters from all over the world. Today, Avicii’s remixes are becoming a part of the standard performance for the world’s greatest DJs, such as David Guetta, Tiësto, Eric Morillo, Roger Sanchez, Laidback Luke, Bob Sinclair, Tom Novy, Axwell or Sebastian Ingrosso.
