Italian duo DJ Phra and Bot started their exciting and prosperous career under this name in 2003, and today they can boast about working with A-list artists such as Moby, U2 and The Chemical Brothers. They started working together, sharing their love of hip-hop and house and a desire, they say, to “crook” everything they hear. In just a few years the duo has worked with some great musicians – Armand Van Helden, Black Eyed Peas, Roisin Murphy – and created a major stir in the global dance scene. Will.I.Am from Black Eyed Peas admitted that it was the guys with their amazing DJ skills that simply left him speechless and inspired him for their latest album. First Crookers’ track “End 2 End” was released in 2006, but only with “Love to Edit” and “Knobbers” they made a significant impact on the scene. Their stellar status was confirmed when they remixed a song for hip-hopper Kid Cudi – “Day`n`Nite”, which Rolling Stone magazine put on the 15th place of the “25 Best Songs” list. What followed were the calls from A-list musicians such as U2, Moby and The Chemical Brothers. In March they released their debut album called “Tons of Friends”, featuring their favourite musicians – Kelis, Soulwax, Major Lazer, RadioClit, Spank Rock, Pitbull, Tim Burgess, Kardinal Offishal and Roisin Murphy. Despite different genres they remixed, the album was praised by critics and described as very cohesive – every song, they say, is in the right place.
